So something very exciting happened to our family on Monday - My brother Kevin and his wife Rachel had a baby girl, Kayla Joy. I can't wait to go see her this weekend, I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and share them with you next week!

Had a crazy weekend this past weekend. Saturday, had to work for a bit, even though it was my day off, and then it was off to TAYLOR SWIFT. It was such a good concert, with Gloriana and Kellie Pickler being the opening acts! I had heard Gloriana's single on the radio and loved it and never knew who sang it or what it was called and when they came on stage and sang my song, it was so cool! Kellie Pickler was awesome as well, and well Taylor Swift is Taylor Swift, so good, had such a good night. My friend took me for Sushi for supper before the concert, I had never tried it before and it actually wasn't bad, some of it was pretty good. After the concert we had to end the night with some dessert, so we headed to Joey's and had Chocolate Souflee, it was so good, my friend had never had it and she's a chocolate finatic, so she LOVED it!!!

Sunday I had a get together with my mom's side of the Family since my cousin and his family who are missionaries in Russia are home for a few weeks, so it was really nice to see them again! Their youngest Emily and I became friends and she wanted me to stay for 4 days, it was so cute, and when I told her I had to leave she looked at me with these sad puppy eyes and said to me, 'It's not four days yet' it was terribly cute and then she gave me a hug and almost started crying, I felt so bad for leaving. After I got home, I headed to my friends surprise birthday party and had a fire and my friend put on a fireworks display which was really cute, so that was a good way to end my weekend.

and of course today was back to work....

I've been trying to figure out what to write on here for the last couple days and I just don't know what to say. Honestly, I think its more that I'm not sure how to say how I'm feeling or what's going on with me. Have you ever felt like you needed to tell someone how you feel, but you just can't get it out, or figure out if it is even worth it - if they will even care or if they will just make you feel worse about yourself than you already did? I guess I've lost my passion, my purpose. I feel out of place in my own skin - rejected even.

I don't mean to complain so I'm going to leave it at that and hope you are all having a great day!

Focusing on The Good Times

It has been forever since I last posted, and there probably aren't many people who check anymore. Its been a busy few months, and I just haven't taken the time to sit down and blog.

Anyways, its been a stressful month or so at my job, we are going through some major changes and its effecting us all in different ways. See the thing is, we are a family at my job, and a member of our family is leaving, and we are all very sad about it. It has been very stressful for me, and I decided to focus on all the good times we have had a work and especially the ones we had with my friend, instead of focusing on the fact that they are leaving. Check back to see the journey we have all gone through the last few months.

Syncro - First Day

So, yesterday was my first day teaching Syncro, and I must say it went really really well. It was a little rough at first but I think it went well overall. The parents seemed to think it went well anyways. I'm excited to start working on programs, and getting to know all the girls. That's all I've got for now, I hope you are having a great day!

First Day

Well I started coaching in Notre Dame today, and it was so much fun. I was just helping out today, but it was a blast. I was a little scared because it was my first day, and I know all the parents are watching you, and I wasn't sure if I would be good enough, but that fear left almost immediately after we started, and I was scared because Notre Dame is a french community, and I know absolutly NO french, but the kids started teaching me how to count, and I can count up to seven, it was ALOT of fun. Wednesday is my first day with Syncro, and I'm kinda freaking out, I have been listening and editing music like crazy, so hopefully they will like something I have picked out!! Well thats all for now, I'll let you know how Wednesday goes.

Saturday Night/Sunday Morning Ramblings [my thoughts-no order-no reason]

*I love the smell when it has rained - fresh, clean, pure, innocent.
*I love the sound, the smell, the feeling in a completly empty arena-when you are the only one, its so quiet, and peaceful.
*I am feeling good about our Syncro routine so far!
*Enjoyed supper tonight with the team-so many memories.
*Who would have thought that lettuce on a pizza would be a good idea - genius...BLT pizza...yummm
*Kinda annoyed that there are only a few test days all season for high tests...arghhhh...just want to pass all my dances.
*Is excited about the getting to eat at the Country Kitchen tomorrow...only one in Canada...and its right here in Winkler
*Is in need of some rocking CanSkate music
*Had a good first day coaching in Morden on Friday - the kids are so great!
*Need to practice practice practice all my turns on Tuesday.
*Had fun at the Syncro workshop today - good bonding experience.

Goodbye Summer, Hello Chaos

Well it's been awhile since I last posted and I decided to update all of you before life gets too crazy. My summer has been good, I've been working and skating mostly, hanging out with friends and doing a little babysitting. Skating is going good, I'm excited for this year, I think it's going to be a good one. Personally, this will probably by my last year skating, at least competing, I want to pass my gold test in Skills and Dance before I hang up the skates for good, so we will see what happens. As far as coaching, this is my first year, and even though I am freaking out, I am so excited. It's going to be so much work, but it's also going to be so worth it in the end.

I got offered a coaching job coaching groupskate in Morden about a month ago, and I said yes, it is the perfect opportunity for a new coach because you are getting to know the up and coming skaters who will likely be your private lesson skaters in a few years, so that was exciting. Then a few weeks ago, I got approached by a few different people about coaching this winter, and I told them all I would think about it, but I didn't give any definates. I debated what I wanted to do, weighed the pro's and con's and decided to take the two other coaching jobs I was offered. So, I am going to be coaching in Manitou [Head Coach], as well I will be Coaching StarSkate and Syncro in Notre Dame. I am so excited and completely freaked out about coaching Syncro, and so when I was told that my Syncro coach referred me it was a huge complement and reassurance that I could handle it. So needless to say, this winter is going to be super busy, but I am excited about the new opportunities and challenges. I am going to start looking for music for Syncro in the next few days, so if anybody has any ideas for music, let me know.

So for a while now, my friend and I have wanted to have a girls weekend, and so we decided that we should go to Winnipeg for the weekend, so on Saturday my friend and I are going into the city, getting our nails done, and staying at the Clarion hotel and just relaxing for the weekend. It's going to be so nice to have one last weekend before I need to start planning for skating. I'm so excited.

Thanksgiving is coming up soon and my parents and I are going to Saskatoon to visit my brother, and SIL as well as Brendan, it is his birthday the weekend before so we are going out for that as well. I can't wait to see my little man.

Life's Too Short

This week I have relearned a valuable lesson, 'Life's Too Short'. I have learned that life can be over in a second and we need to stop being so concerned about ourselves and look at the bigger picture, take into consideration those around us, and let God speak to us through every minute of every day and let God speak through us as well to those needing a little encouragment and love. We need to dream big and fight for what we want, be open-minded, and not so self-centered. We need to offer hope to those who feel hopeless, and share our faith with those who don't know what to believe in. We need to stop being so arrogant and realize that the world doesn't revolve around us, and sometimes life sucks, but you know what? We have to learn to deal with it, because the world revolves around God, and we need to trust in him and his plans for each of us, stop being so concerned with ourselves and our comfortable lives. Sometimes we need to step outside our comfort zones and listen to what God has in store for us. We need to live and love and forgive, because every day we are given is a gift from God.

This week the world lost a great man, and my heart goes out to his family, and I pray that God gives them peace and comfort during this time of unimaginable pain and loss.

It's been awhile

I've kinda been putting off blogging for awhile, wasn't really sure what to write or what not to write some days, but I decided I would write a quick little update.
I'm loving my new job, the people are great, it's nice being appreciated at work, and liking what you do, it makes the day go by so much faster! I really enjoy getting to know the guests, especially those staying awhile, I've learned to be more outgoing, and have more confidence in myself, its very easy to second guess yourself, but I am becoming more confident in my abilities.
I'm still skating, I took a few weeks off when there was no ice, went on a little vacation to Saskatoon which was so much fun, it was so nice not having to be anywhere at a particular time, sleeping in was fantastic, and spending time with Brendan was so great, [Kevin and Rach you were great too...lol...don't worry I didn't forget about you two:D] I'm not sure if it's just a new time in my life or if I am just more open minded, but lately I've been really impacted and inspired by almost everything. I feel more creative and more driven and passionate, which is good, but its not like I'm being inspired by new things its things I have dealt with before things I have seen before or heard before, its kinda strange but also very uplifting at the same time.
Back to skating, I just bought new skates, so far everything is still there I didn't lose any jumps or spins or anything, but they are pretty stiff, I started skating again last week, and it was good to be back on the ice, I'm looking forward to coaching and skating, it will be a new challenge but I'm ready for it.

4 Days Left!!

I am super duper happy to post that I only have 4 shifts left at Superstore! I have been applying for jobs for about a year now and hadn't found anything and thought I was destined to stay at Superstore forever...but fortunately my luck has changed and I currently am employed at the Heartland Inn as a Front Desk Receptionist. I wasn't exactly what I wanted and I was a little leary about taking the job, but after two shifts, I absolutly love it, its such a great place to work, my boss is super nice and so are the other employees and works around everybody's schedule. It can get lonely, because you work alone all the time, but it doesn't really bother me because there is plenty to do, and sometimes I need my down time, and so now that time is at work. Anyways, I thought I would inform you all on that. Other than that not much is happening right now, I'm way to busy working both jobs, because I started on Wednesday, June 25th and my last day at superstore is only July 4th so I am averaging 55 hours a week, so I'm super tired, but its all so worth it.
Kevin and Rachel are coming home tonight, and I am super excited to see them but to be perfectly honest, I am super duper excited to see Brendan, sorry guys, Baby ALWAYS trumps...lol. They are staying until July 7th, and then I am going home with them and staying for a week and then flying home on July 14th, I have never flown before but I am so excited about the new opportunity. Anyways, I am sure I will have some awesome pictures to post in the next few days of the two most awesome people in the whole world...Brendan and Me!!...lol.

So, a bunch of my friends are huge nascar fans and because of everybody's work schedules and everything we only get together on weekends, usually Sundays. About a month ago me and my friend Tara decided to join them for Nascar because it was the only time we got to spend time together and we ended up picking cars to cheer for. So I picked Kasey Kahne and Denny Hamlin and wasn't too into in until Kasey Kahne won about three weeks ago and now I am totally hooked. Me and Tara even made our own shirts.

So, now I am a huge Nascar Fan.

Well it has been awhile since I updated...and not too much has happened in the last month and a half.
For starters I took my last coaching course at the beginning of May, so I can now coach, I've already started, there is this little girl in Morden who was coached by a friend of mine but she broke her foot so she asked me to take over for her for the time being. I love coaching...I can't wait until fall when I can really get into it. I'm so pumped!!!
Continuing with skating, I haven't had to much success with testing lately, I passed my Vienesse Waltz at the end of April, so I'll be testing again in August, so I have alot of work to do yet to get everything ready, but I think I'll be fine. I'm getting new skates which should make things interesting, hopefully it won't change anything. I'm getting them hopefully in July, so they should be good and broken-in by test day.
On to other things...the weather has been beautiful lately and today is no exception...I've been spending as much time as possible outside. Of course with nice weather comes lots of pictures!

Well ALOT has happened since I last posted...and I decided that I would fill you in this afternoon while I have some time.
Well last weekend was a busy busy one, on Friday I got off work and headed over to the rink, it being the last practice before carnival and everything and then raced home and headed across the street to babysat in the evening. On Saturday I had a Competition as well as Carnival in the evening. The Competition was for Syncro and was in Virden and it didn't go very well, we had a few falls and one of my teamates was really sick and actually went to the hospital after we competed, she is okay though she had a migrane and dehydration, that along with the stresses of cometiting, she just felt really really awful. After we skated we raced home, because we skated at 4pm and Carnival started at 7pm and its a 3ish hour drive to Virden so I didn't even take my skates off, until we were driving, and I had to change and everything in the backseat. We got to the Arena in Winkler just as they were singing Oh Canada, so we weren't too late. Carnival went pretty good, it was fun. On Sunday I had a test day and an easter gathering. Test Day wasn't very successful, I failed all three of my tests; two dances and one skills. My easter gathering was pretty good, me and my cousing played dance dance revolution and I met my cousins girlfriend for the first time and she was pretty cool.

I also got my hair cut this week, I had wanted to cut if for awhile already but I couldn't because of Syncro...since we have to have our hair in a bun, but know that syncro is over I cut it and I love it.

Finally

Yesterday was test day, and I was testing [for the sixth time] the Paso and finally....
I PASSED!!!!
...and I found out right away because I was testing another dance, but I could only test that dance if I passed the Paso, so my coach went to find out and she came back and told me I better get ready to get my but back on the ice....and then I screamed, and everybody looked, and then everybody knew I had just passed my Paso...lol. My other dance, the Quickstep, I failed but that was okay because it's a Gold dance, so they have much higher expectations, and it was my first try so I was okay, I got the important one!
So, my friend knew I was taking this test for the sixth time and I really wanted to pass it so she texted me to see how I did and I told her and today in church she brought me flowers with a Congrats balloon. I was totally surprised and felt so extremely blessed to have a friend like her. I love you Claire!!!!

On another note, we starting Carnival this week and I think it will be unlike any others, which is good. It's going to be alot of fun, especially the StarSkate numbers!
Carnival is on March 15th and you are all invited to come!

Here's the story...we have this stuffed pig that is covered in blue marker but its still in pretty good shape otherwise so we still use it...anyways I took it out on the ice the one day with a bunch of other stuffed animals and Mia found it and fell in love with it...she named it Oinky and asks for it at every session, and when I say 'I'm gonna get Oinky, she screams and skates away-running away from me. This last monday she told me that Oinky needed a bed so I gave her a plastic container and she put Oinky in there and went on her merry way skating around, and all of a sudden she comes up to me and says 'Your my mom' and I said 'I'm your mom?' and she said 'yeah, Your the mom and I'm the kid and this is our pet Oinky' and so I asked her where we lived, and she said 'in this circle[since we were standing in one of the five circles on the ice]' and then she skated off and I was standing there chuckling to myself, thinking of the imagination in that kid.

So, I guess it has been awhile since I updated all of you on life on this end.
Things are still hectic with skating everyday, except Saturday, Carnival is coming up in less than two months...crazy!!! I'm leaving in two weeks for a Syncro Competition in Camrose, Alberta, I kinda have mixed feelings, I'm excited to go, but we still have a ton of work to do before we compete. Regionals went alright, I skated pretty well, the judges didn't really think so, but I can't do anything about that. Since that is the only competition for me this year, I'm kinda done for the season, so I started laying out my goals for next season already, and have been focusing on those these last few practices. I've been looking for some new program music, I haven't decided if I'm going to stick with the same music from this year, or get some new stuff. I'll probably only change one piece of music if I change anything.

A Year In Review

As I take time to look back on what seems like a very long and trying year I am amazed at how things have changed, how much I have accomplished, and how hard I have worked to move forward in my life through many trials and set backs.

Here is a look back at my 2007:

And as I look forward to a new year, full of new experiences, I will hold onto the past to remind me of where I have come from, and where I want to go. I will remember those who broke my heart and those you helped me put it back together. I will take chances and step out of my comfort zone and trust God to keep my heart in tact. I will hold onto the things most important to me and take each day one step at a time, and when it seems like I can't go on, I will hold on to the promise that God is always with me. I will cherish my friends and my family, I will try and live each day to the fullest, and I will make the most of each opportunity, because if I have learned anything in 2007 I have learned that you never know how long things will last, so don't wait for the right moment, just live. I will laugh harder and more often, and I will love with all of my heart. I will hug my friends and tell them how much they mean to me. So, it's been awhile since I wrote on here, I decided to freshen it up, and am very happy with how it turned out. Not much new here, skating and working--still looking for a different job, but whatever is supposed to happen will happen--skating is going pretty well, today was a very good day at the rink, I tried a new jump--lutz-double toe--and almost landed it on my second attempt. I also almost landed two other double jumps, I was so pumped and everything was going so well, which was good because yesterday was a very frusterating day at the rink, where everything seemed to be going wrong.
Coaching is going really well, it has its moments but it is definatly giving me a good look at the job. Mondays are my favorite with the little 2-4 year olds, they're so cute, and absolutly LOVE bubbles. They are all doing so well, and the parents seem to be liking my way of teaching which is a great encouragment.
I am new to the ebay thing but with the help of my neighbor, I ordered a skating dress from China about a week ago, so I'm hoping it will come soon. I'm super pumped, I hope it fits, and if it does, I'm ordering another one for my short program. The great thing is that they make the dress for you, so you send them your measurements and they make the dress for your body. Its so great and cheaper than having one made in town.
I also finally got a cd player in my car--no more radio!!!! and my command start got fixed, no more running outside to turn my car on!
I am about half done my christmas shopping, I have two more gifts left for my family and a few left for friends. I can't believe that it's almost christmas, these past few months have just flown by.

Saving Words For Jesus

This morning in church, Pastor Herb gave an amazing message and the one thing that really stuck in my mind was how we don't have one word which describes only Jesus, for example we say Jesus is awesome, yet we often say how awesome our day was or how awesome our new car is, or whatever, and I realized he was right.
If Jesus is so great, how come we use the same words to describe him as we do other earthly things?
It really made me think about how important is he in our lives if we can't even find a word to describe our creator?
It's just something to think about...

So, time for an update.
My life is super crazy yet boring all at the same time.
I'm skating six days a week and have been asked to be a coach, thats right an actual coach, getting paid and everything, so thats super exciting, I'm just hoping all goes well and that people will take me seriously as a coach. Skating is going well, both my programs are done and I love them, its so cool to design them yourself, then you get exactly what you want, well mostly, I did have my one coach, Almira help me create footwork and an ending position for my short program.
Other than skating and work I have no life...lol, but thats okay.
I babysat my neighbors for the first time in a long time today, and it went so smoothly so that was good, I had babysat for Quinn and Kierra about a year ago or more, and since then they have had a baby so I had her too, and she was so good for me which was awesome!!! I babysit for them 2 a month on Tuesdays.
Other than that, life is pretty much skating and work, but thats okay, I'm glad I'm busy, anyways I hope you are having a great day and God Bless!

Today when I got home from the rink, I went to check the mail, and there was a package from Skate Canada, which I have been waiting for forever, it's my Canskate marks, and I passed with a 100%, I was so pumped, it was a great thing in a very stressful week. Quick little update

So, life hasn't changed much since I last blogged. Kevin and Rachel still haven't had their baby, hence the ticker that hasn't been removed. I'm getting very anxious already, all I hope is that the baby is born before we go to Saskatoon this coming weekend.
Skating is going good, starting next week, skating is going to be more frequent, so I'll be a little busier than right now, but I'm really looking forward to it. Syncro is going so good, the atmosphere is almost relaxing. It is really hard, getting everything and everybody in sync with each other but once you get it is so gratifying.
I'm still job hunting, getting a little discouraged, but I just need to trust that God will send me where I'm supposed to go, and that I will listen to him.
In other news, I took the cutest pictures of my neighbors; Josiah, Logan and Naomi on Friday night, but I didn't take them with a digital camera so I can't post them on here. Hopefully soon I will buy a digital camera. I have picked out which one I want, its a Canon, so I'm saving my pennies so that I can buy it.
I'll try and blog more frequently this week, its just hard because sometimes life isn't very interesting around here.

On the Fence

I had been pondering which club I should register with the last few days and just couldn't make up my mind. I really enjoy skating in Morden because of the atmosphere and the people. But I really felt a little obligated to register in Winkler because its where I had started skating and I knew everybody and it is such a nice tight group but I really didn't have many good memories there because of last season. I felt like I needed a fresh start, but I didn't want to hurt the people in morden that have become my some of my best friends these last few years. I knew I would be skating in both places anyways but it was still a big decision I really didn't want to have to make. I didn't want to hurt anybodys feelings but I wasn't really thinking about what was best for me. So, I tried to make a list of the pros and cons considering costs and everything, and I really was going to miss our carnival, but I thought if that is the only reason for me to register in Winkler that was really really selfish. So, I just hope that I don't hurt anybody by my decision because that is not my intention, but I decided to register in Morden. Please pray that this season goes well and I hope that your day is going super duper!

GOOD NEWS

So, as most of you know, I had a rough skating season last year, and wasn't sure how this season would be either because I didn't have a coach. Well, I have at least one definate coach this year which is a HUGE relief, everything seems to be coming together. You may have noticed I said at least, thats right, I have another coach who at this point will coach me as well, as well as one in Winkler if nothing else changes. I also have my syncro coach Pam who will give me lessons whenever she has time. This has been a huge weight on my shoulders this spring and summer and to finally have some direction is an enormous blessing. I am extremely happy and just hope i don't wear myself out this winter by skating so much more than I did last year, but I think it will be a great experience and a lot of hard work, but I am definately up to the challenge. A Fresh Start

I can't believe how fast summer has gone, and even this whole year so far. Skating has started and I had my first Syncronized Skating practice on Sunday. Pam, the syncro coach, has been nagging me for years to join, and so I finally gave in this year. It was so cool, I had so much fun, the atmosphere is super relaxed. In February, we are going to Camrose, Alberta for a syncro competition, which is going to be so much fun, I'm super pumped. In other skating news I think I have found a coach, possibly 2. This is a huge blessing for me, because of my season last year. I am super excited to start fresh this year, which includes two new programs which I want to choreograph myself, it is something I really enjoy about the sport, and I've really got nothing to lose.
I am still searching for a job, if anybody knows of anything please let me know, even if I don't know you, and you look at my blog, I'm open to suggestions.
I found out yesterday that I might be an auntie sooner than I think, which is causing me to be very antsy last night and today. My sister-in-law Rachel, told me that she might be two weeks further along than she thought which would make the baby due on Thursday, which is so exciting, I can't wait to be an auntie, and twice yet, I just can't wait.
Other than skating taking up all my time, I have been asked to babysit every other tuesday starting in October, which I am also excited about.
Also, I just finished my CanSkate assignment, so I am planning to get that in the mail this week yet. It seems that so much is happening, and so far it is all good, so I am very thankful for everything.

Whopper of an Update

I guess it's time for an update. Where should I begin? Graduation was great, can't believe it has been over a month already! Here is a picture of me and my friends with our dresses/suits.

Right after grad I cut my hair short and put an orange streak in it, and I love it, I had been wanting to cut my hair for a while already and my friends were like, you have to wait till after grad, so I did, but right after it was short. Here are some pics of me with my short hair.

My summer has been awesome. My family went camping over the July long weekend to Clear Lake. It was fun, a little colder than I thought, but fun anyways. I went to Minniapolis July 9-11 with my youth as our grad trip. I had forgotten how small school buses were, and how there are no comfortable positions on a bus, especially for that long of a time. Oh well, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. It was awesome, we went to Mall of America, Valley Fair, and Albertville. Valley Fair was awesome, I'll try and post some pictures soon. I went on the Wild Thing 5 times with my friend Tara, both of us had never been on a roller coaster before this, but we would definatly go again. We have a feeling that Harvest Festival just won't be the same this year. Another new experience was having my first funnel cake, it was delicious.

After Minniapolis I went back to work and started working on my Coaching assignments. I had originally planned to go to the course at the end of August, but it just isn't going to work. I am hoping to have my CanSkate done by September and then finish my Phase 2 by spring when the course is offered again. I have been busy cutting music the last week or so, and love it, I love creating programs in my head as I edit the music, it makes it all worthwhile. Also, after a much needed break from the ice, I am starting again next week. I have been going the last two weeks for mentoring, but will actually start skating next week. I am still in need of a coach, but have decided to not worry about it too much. Whatever is supposed to happen will happen.I am also looking for a new job, a full time job, preferably an office position of some kind, so if you hear of anything let me know. I am still working at Superstore for the time being, and the scary part is I am the highest senority in my department, itsn't that sad, I am 18 and I have made it to the top of the senority list for being their the longest. There is one other girl who has been there longer but is restricted and so she is then bumped down, but still.My summer has been busy with everything but most of all my friends, as it is our last summer before some of us go of to school, we are hanging out all the time, which is awesome! Last saturday we had a fire at my house and decided to go to the park to take some pictures, they turned out really cool, here is a sample of them.

Also, this summer I have joined a baseball team. It's slowpitch and it's alot of fun. I can't hit the ball, but oh well, I guess that's what you get when you haven't played in years. I am getting better and its good exercise. We have a tournament at the end of August so that will be fun.

Jennie and Rachel [my SIL's] are both doing well, the babies are doing well as well. Jennie is due at the end of October, beginning of November. Rachel is due at the end of September. I'm pretty excited, I love babies.

So, its been awhile since I last blogged and so I decided I would take a few minutes and update all of you on whats been happening. I am finally ready for grad, I picked up my dress today, bought shoes, a purse and a bracelet this afternoon. I bought a necklace with earrings a few weeks ago when I had my dress fitting. I am starting to get really excited for grad, I just wish it was already here.
Exams are almost here, which is getting me a little stressed. I have a 6 hour [4 days] provincial english exam on june 4-7. The worst part is you can't really study because its all just answering questions in depth. My math exam is June 12, and my chemistry exam is June 19. I also have my technical chemistry paper due June 4 and a band concert on June 6. I have two tests next week, and Chemistry test on Thursday and a English test on Wednesday. So, you can see I'm extremely busy with school right now.
On June 16 and 17 I have a theory course for coaching in the city so I'll be one step closer to getting my coaching. This is kind of a bad weekend for me because it will cut back a lot on my studying for my chemistry exam but oh well.

Good To Be Home...

It has been awhile since I last blogged and it has been a busy week or so. I spent monday sleeping at home, sick, which sucked, tuesday - thursday I was on a band tour in Winnipeg, which was really fun, especially wednesday since I was still sick on tuesday. We went to the Old Spaghetti Factory and the IMAX on Tuesday, and Celebrations on Wednesday night which was so much fun, I want to go back again. On thursday we came home, and I unpacked and repacked.

On Friday morning, I left for the city again for my Level One, Phase One Coaching course, which was better than I expected it to be. My class was really cool, which made it more interesting. I'm really looking forward to being done, but I got a lot of good information this weekend and a ton of helpful tips. Also this weekend I went for my grad dress fitting!!!! It's perfect, I was a little concerned about the color, but it was perfect. There was just a few alterations that need to be done and then I will have it for good. I got my jewellery aswell, so all I need know is my shoes.

Both my brothers [and wives] went for ultrasounds on friday and the babies are doing well, which is a huge blessing.

Anyways, I am going to go to sleep, have a great week.

A little of this...a little of that

So, this past Sunday was the last test day of the season. I tested two dances, the Blues and that wonderful Paso. When I got there I found out that out of 46 tests only 6 had passed. Not a good feeling, the evaluators were really hard, even on the little skaters. So, I took my paso and had to do 3 rounds which is really tireing because its so fast, and then I had to do another round by myself, I could barely breath after, but anyways, it didn't go that well so I was prepared to get a retry, but I didn't get my results until after my second dance. So I went out again, and just kinda did it, I wasn't really thinking that much, and it felt good. So, after I took my skates off, and watched a few more skaters, and then found out that I had passed the Blues, but not the Paso, but that was okay, it wasn't that good anyways, it wasn't a good Paso day for me. So, the plan is to take summer school [skating] and then test it again. I was happy that I passed one, especially considering the pass rate, and the fact that it was my first try at the blues and at the level I'm at, you don't usually pass on your first try, which I have for all my tests this year except the Paso, so I am really happy with my progress this year.
Anyways, I got my confirmation email yesterday about my coaching course next weekend. I can't believe I'm actually going to be a coach with in a year or so, I am so pumped. Next week [Tues - Thurs] is also my school band trip to Winnipeg, yes very exciting. So it will be a long week, and a lot of homework. Just to give you a feel I have a Comp. English test on Monday [before I leave], a 1000 word english essay, a 5ish page Chem Paper due, and possibly a math test. I will be happy when I hand it all in.
I can't believe how nice it is outside, I spent alot of time outside on Saturday, and it was so nice. It was my friend Rey's 16th birthday last Friday, and his party was on Saturday. So me and my friends bought him a car...literally. We gave him a box with a key inside and a note that said, go look outside, and on the driveway was a little remote control car. It was so funny, he loved it so all was good.

Discouraged

So, I hate coming on here and venting but I just need to say it...so I'm sorry, I don't mean to offend anybody.
So, I had my 18th birthday party last sunday and it was crap. I wasn't even the reason for the party by the end, half the time I was inside because I knew I would burst into tears or scream at somebody if I stayed outside. I hated it, because I felt so selfish, I should just be thankful for what I have. When I was opening presents everyone was talking and nobody even cared what I was doing except for like one person who was sitting beside me, like do you know how worthless you feel when that happens. I just don't know why it is bothering me so much.
This whole week hasn't been much better, I feel okay and then all of a sudden I am blinking back tears, I feel very alone right now, even though I know I'm not. I feel like a failure and it sucks. Like take today for instance, I was at skating practicing with my dance partner and he was explaining something to me and all of a sudden I felt like crying, he wasn't being mean or anything, I don't know what is wrong with me. I feel like just crawling in a hole and staying there forever.
I feel like people expect either extreme greatness or they expect me to fail. I feel torn and confused. I just don't know what to do.

Stars On Ice

Last night I went to the city to go see Stars On Ice and it was AMAZING!!!! The theme was Double Exposure which was really cool. My favorite numbers were from Jeff Buttle, Miki Ando, Kyoko Ina and John Zimmerman, Kurt Browning and Jamie Sale and David Pelletier, but they were all great!!!
In other news, I landed my axel for the first time on Wednesday. This may not be a big thing for you, but this is the fourth year I am working on my axel, so I was extremely pumped when I landed it on Wednesday. I also learned how to do an A-spin on Tuesday, which was cool. An A-spin is where you spin on one foot grab the foot off the ice, and have your head by your knees, its really hard to explain, but yeah.
I had the pleasure of my first exam of the semester this week. Yes already, it's a three part exam and part one was this week. It was a really weird exam too. It was for consumer, and the project was to start a clothing store. It was really weird for a math exam.
Skating is going well, I'm feeling so much better in skating lately which is a huge relief for me because I really was thinking about quitting so it is so much easier to work hard when you want to be at the rink. Test day is in a week tomorrow, I'm not really that nervous, I've been working hard on my dances, and feel confident with them.

Retail Marketing

So, I've been doing some research for a school project on future careers/colleges/ universities and I actually found something that I am interested in studying; Retail Marketing. I was doing research on the University of Saskatchewan, because thats where I am planning to go to University. The funny thing was that I hadn't even thought about retail marketing until searching the website. I knew I wanted to go into business or design of some sort, and this is kinda both in a sense. For those of you who don't know what retail marketing is, its to familiarize students with the decisions involved in developing sustainable competitive advantage in retailing and the concepts and principles for making those decisions to promote higher sales and profits.
I haven't made any final course decisions, especially since I'm not planning to go to University this fall, but next fall. Anyways, I thought this was kinda cool, because I was kinda in the dark about what I wanted to focus on in University.

Spring Break

So, spring break is this week, so I am enjoying sleeping in, and relaxing before I go back to school only for another three months, can you believe it?
On Friday was my 18th Birthday, and my parents took me out for supper to Boston Pizza, and then I just hung out the rest of the evening. Alot of my friends weren't around on my birthday, so I didn't have a party, not yet anyways. So far I have received some scrapbooking supplies, jewellry, flowers, and stars on ice tickets! Anybody who has any good ideas for what I should do for my 18th birthday party please let me know.
This weekend was pretty laid back, I went to the Morden Ice Show on Saturday night with some of the other skaters. I thought it was really good, their theme was 'Reality On Ice' it was so cute. It was cool to see how other clubs run their ice shows.
Spring School [skating] starts next week, I'm actually looking forward to it. I have a coach which is exciting, and I'm hoping to finally pass my Paso Doble. I also have hopes of landing my axel, my coach has seen my practice it and thinks that she can help me land it, so I'm kinda anxious, I really want to land that jump. I've been working on it for a long time.
I have also decided to take the first coaching course in May, I was kinda leary about missing so much school, but I'm hoping to make some of the work up before I leave, so that its not such a big load of homework when I get back.
I decided to leave part of a song that has really inspired me, with all those who look at my blog.

Update:

Today was test day and I got another retry on my Paso, but I did pass my Starlight, so that was good, my goal was to pass at least one, so I met my goal. The regular season with skating is winding down, only one week left. Then it's Spring School in Morden, which I will be working on my axel, and my Paso.
Carnival went well, I skated my program really well which was awesome, I was pretty nervous and I felt really shaky before I went out on the ice, so for me it was such a high. I had a nice sized cheering section..thanks guys:D I even got flowers and candy form my cheering section!!!The night seemed to go very smoothly, and all my worries about the night disappeared. Although, my chicky Brittany's blade broke which sucked, and so she couldn't skate her program or our last routine. So, Kyla, took her place, take note, she didn't know the steps till that day...and she did wonderfully! You rock Kyla:D
I went grad ring shopping yestersday, and looked at a few, but didn't order one because they haven't gotten the new designs in yet, so I'm waiting for a week or so. I got my grad proofs in the mail last week and am quite pleased with them, not a fan of the cap on my head, but oh well. Grad's coming up [note the ticker], and I'm getting excited, but can't lose focus, I have 3 exams at the end of the semester to get through still, so yeah, once I'm done those I will more be excited.

Things generally are going pretty good, I just have to believe in myself and God and I will be 100% okay.

Organized Chaos

So, I haven't updated in awhile and I've been trying, but my computer hasn't been letting me unless I sign up for the new blogger, so finally today after a few tries I got it to work. Anyways, you are probably wondering about my title, well thats been my life this last week. On Monday, we had the official dress rehersal for Carnival and it was, lets just say a little hectic, but everything went as planned, kinda, and I feel pretty good about Saturday! Official Dress Rehersal pretty much is pictures, and running through all the programs, so for me and the other pa's and the coaches its a pretty long 3 hours. I think we all changed four times if not more, its going to be crazy Saturday night, but I'm getting excited and nervous already.
Monday after dress rehersal the Starskaters [which is the more advanced skaters, like me] had an hour of ice and so I was running through my Paso [the dance which I feel and injured my right knee on] and I feel again, no not on my knee, but I feel and cut the back of my left leg open. At first I didn't think it was anything, because I couldn't see any blood, and my tights weren't ripped or anything, but it wouldn't stop throbbing, so I went to the dressing room and took on layer of tights off and noticed blood on that pair, so I took of my skates and tights to see that I had a pretty nasty cut on my leg, so luckly I had my snap up pants and snapped them on and went to the lobby where some of the parents were watching and was like, 'I need a nurse' So, they cleaned it and were like, I think you need stitches. So, I called my mom and she took me to the hospital and I got 5 stitches. So, that night it wasn't painful at all, since it was frozen and all, but the next day it hurt to move it. But its doing much better already, I skated yesterday, cautiously, but the doctor said I was good to go for Saturday.
Anyways, I found out the other day the my coaching course is being offered at the beginning of may, which kinda sucks because I have my school band tour the 1-3 and then my course is the 4-6 so I'd miss 4 days of school.
Anyways, thats all for now. Remember to come to the Winkler Arena at 7:00 on Saturday for Carnival!!!

Test Day

So, this afternoon I had a skating test. Their are four main types of skating tests; dance, skills, freeskate, and interpretive. I took a dance test this afternoon, the Paso Doble. midway through warm-up I tripped on my pick and fell flat on my face, really hitting my knee. Everybody kinda gasped when I went down, and asking if I was okay, and I was, but my legs were just shaking, so I got up, and kept practicing, but in the back of my mind thinking about falling again. I was just in alot of pain, but decided to just suck it up and do this. So, when it was my turn, I went to the start with my dance partner and started my dance, and it was going smoothly until we got to the part where I fell and I kinda blanked and missed a step and so I was just going to keep going, but the judge stopped the music, and I got a retry, which is the nice way of saying fail. So anyways, that was my afternoon. Hope you all have a great weekend!

So, I decided to go with It's On - Superchic[k]. I choreographed it this morning, so you can all come check it out at our annual skating carnival on March 10. The theme is Dreams and I have a good feeling about the finished product. The little kids are all so cute, I was watching a bunch of groups go through their routines on Friday, and it just makes you smile. Anyways, just thought I would let you know my final decision, and encourage everybody to come to carnival...March 10...don't forget.

This past week, I have gone through every emotion, and I kept dwelling on the bad times over and over again. Yeah, right now, life is kinda rocky, but I have so much to be thankful for. I have the most amazing friends, who know how to make me laugh and now what to say. Take this past week for example, I got home from work on tuesday, and I had been having a bad week and I went to check my email and my friend had sent me an email telling me how much she cared about me, and I hadn't even told anybody about my week yet, it was clearly God. Anyways, I know that life sometimes sucks, but even though my skating right now is really stressful, and I feel alone, I'm not, because skating is not my entire life, a large part yes, but now my entire life. So, my challenge for myself is to be thankful for the things and the people right in front of me, my friends, my family, and those who are supporting me. So, I guess thanks to them, without you, I wouldn't where I am.

Skate In Face...Ouch

Jessica Dube and Bryce Davison, the 2007 Canadian Gold Medalists [figure skating] recently competed at Four Continents.
During their side-by-side spins in their long program the got too close and Bryce's skate hit Jessica's face, cutting her face and causing her to fall to the ground. It was awful, I could barely watch it. The amazing thing is that they are planning to compete at the World Championships in Tokyo in March. I saw them in an interview today and she looked like she was doing pretty good, they had the camera from a side angle of her face[the side that didn't get cut], but I saw a little bit, and it didn't look that bad, so thats good. At the beginning of the season Jess fell out of a lift, causing some knee problems, so they had to withdraw from the grand prix circuit, which is basically just the beginning competitions of the year. Then they competed at Canadians and won. Then they went to Four Continents and this happened. They just can't catch a break. Anyways, thats all for now.

I haven't written on here in awhile so I decided I would quickly before I went to work. Life right now is pretty rough, going through alot of stuff, mainly skating, but other stuff as well. I'm feeling really down alot and starting to take things really personally lately. I've been contemplating taking batism classes and am really confused about what to do. I am just trying to figure out who I am and what it is that I want from life, so it's been a long few months. School is back in swing for second semester, I have a pretty full load, but I think I can handle it. I have consumer math [possibly the easiest class I have ever had], spare, english comp, english trans, and chemsitry.
In other amy news [my attempt at humor...sorry], my brother and his wife [kev and rach] are expecting a baby, so....I'm going to be an auntie. They live in Saskatoon so it's not really registering quite yet. Anyways, they told us the news by sending us flowers and on the card it said to grandma, grandpa and auntie from baby. Its so cute.
So, guess what...I can get marks for blogging. My english trans teacher said he'll give us marks if we have a blog. Can you believe it, I was like sweet...lol.
So, anyways, if you have any advise on what to do about skating or getting baptised, please let me know...hope you are having a good day

Hello to all those you read my blog.
I just thought I would just wish you all a very belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I haven't decided if I am going to make any new years resolutions yet. Hopefully, this coming year I will be able to live it, by learning from my mistakes, and I have made alot lately. I'm ready for a new year, and hopefully a fresh start. I decided I would update...already.

I have been pondering about what I am going to do next year, and It's almost official, I'm LEAVING!!!, I was going to stay, but it has come to my attention, that I am not necessarily needed here, so I'm off. I thought It would be harder to leave skating, but due to a rough start, I'm finding the thought of leaving almost satisfying, but at the same time, bitter-sweet. I don't think I have had such a stressful, trying start to school/skating in my life, and I have grown so much through it, some good, some bad. I have learned who my real friends are, and what my true talents are, and where I am appreciated. It has been a hard bunch of lessons to learn, but it has been good for me to learn them.

On top of my on going skating frustrations, It has been a long week due to family illness. On Thursday Morning my Grandma took her final breath and went to be with Jesus. It was a bitter-sweet moment. I found today very hard to get through, but with the help of my friends, and God, I made it through.
I just ask that you pray for my family as we continue preperations for the funeral, and try to continue life with out our mother, grandmother, and sister.

The little things in life...

So, I haven't posted in a while so I decided that it was time for an update. Canskate, Kidskate, and Groupskate have started and we successfully completed a full week..whoo..lol. Anyways I am a P.A. [program assistant] for groupskate and canskate. We are short on p.a.'s to start off which is making this season seem really crazy and stressful. On friday, 3 of our p.a.'s couldn't make it to skating and the head coach was inside doing parent meetings so I was in charge and I had 23 kids in my group!! A normal size is 5-7. Anyways I got through that without going insane and actually kinda enjoyed myself. Hopefully this week will be a little less crazy with group changes and such.
At work this week I worked incredibly hard [jk], on Thursday I made a castle out of soap. The store is in the process of getting ready for christmas. My supervisor told me to make a display of lux soap and to make it look nice...it's soap, there's only so much you can do with soap right? Anyways I did what I was told and started putting these boxes on the pallet kinda angleing[sp.] them to add variety. Anyways once I had filled the pallet there was still 12 boxes to empty. So I started to put individual packs out and in the end it looked like a castle. That was only the first exciting thing at work this week. On Saturday, I got to work and started to put out some christmas stock when I had to work in the bull-pen [its what we call the beauty counter-dont ask why-I don't know]. So, we got these new necklaces in and they look more like something I would decorate my christmas tree with but thats besides the point, and anyways when the company sent them to us they just sent all the necklaces in one big box so we had to untangle them. Well when I got to work they had them all untangled except 4, and nobody could untangle them, so I decided to try. Well after 3 hours of constant frustration and untangling and retangling, I got them apart. It was quite exciting.

Hey everybody! I figured that I would blog again since it has been awhile since I last blogged.
Life is pretty much a fixed routine with work, skating and school taking up all my time.
I'm already excited about canskate [a younger skater program] and kidskate [3 and 4 year olds] which start mid-october. My brother and sister-in-law are coming out for thanksgiving which is exciting! I'm in my last week of my current routine before it changes into the regular season which is double the ice time and the same amount of work and school...so lets just say goodbye free time and hello late night homework!!!

So...you know when everything in your life seems like its just ordinary, but everybody around you is having the time of their lives?...Well, that has been me lately...I love life...I really do, but it just seems like every one I know have these glamorous lives and you can't help but wish that that was you? The worst part is that it seems like its getting worse and I feel so bad wishing that their lives were mine, because I really have nothing to complain about.
This has been such a long, and complicating last 2ish weeks...I've had to do some things that will help me later in life...but right now it hurts alot. I did hear a song on the radio on sunday and absolutly love it because it's descrbing how my life is right now...its a new song by superchic[k] called 'Stand In The Rain'...if you have time listen to it

So, School has started and I have had the pleasure of having homework everyday. Oh well, It was gone happen sooner or later. Skating started on Tuesday and it was awesome! My feet hurt so much after because of my new, and very stiff skates...lol. Anyways I already can see that I'll be super busy all winter and into next spring...but I like it that way. With skating and work and school this may be the only way any-one knows what's going on with me!..lol. Well that's all for now.
